Job summary

A well-established business law firm in Towson, MD is seeking an experienced Business Litigation Attorney to join its growing team. This opportunity is ideal for a litigator who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants to handle sophisticated commercial disputes.

The attorney will manage all phases of business litigation from pre-suit through trial, represent clients in contracts and business tort disputes, and mentor junior associates.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active Maryland license to practice.
• 5+ years of business litigation experience at a law firm.
• Strong background in commercial litigation, including contracts and business torts.
• Excellent writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently; portable book of business is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of business litigation from pre-suit through trial, including strategy, discovery, motions, and settlements.
• Represent clients in disputes involving contracts, partnerships, shareholder issues, business torts, and related commercial matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct depositions and represent clients in court appearances, hearings, and arbitrations.
• Manage client relationships and provide strategic counsel on litigation risk and business objectives.
• Collaborate with partners and associates on case strategy and staffing.
• Mentor junior associates as needed.

The annual salary for this position is between $150,000 and $200,000. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
