Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and case analysis to support litigation strategy.
• Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Communicate with clients to provide case updates and strategic guidance.
• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on case strategy and complex matters.
• Maintain compliance with Maryland court rules, procedures, and filing deadlines.
• If applicable, handle Family Law matters with sensitivity to local practices.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Associate to join our Towson, MD office. This role is focused on civil (non-criminal) litigation, and we welcome candidates with a strong civil litigation background. Candidates with Family Law experience will also be considered, provided they bring local Maryland court knowledge and community background relevant to our practice area.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters from intake through resolution, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial phases
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and other litigation documents
• Conduct legal research and case analysis to support litigation strategy
• Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences
• Communicate directly with clients to provide case updates and strategic guidance
• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on case strategy and complex matters
• Maintain compliance with Maryland court rules, procedures, and filing deadlines
• If applicable, handle Family Law matters (custody, divorce, support, etc.) with sensitivity to local practices and precedent

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in civil litigation (non-criminal)
• Active license to practice law in the State of Maryland (required)
• Family Law experience is a plus, particularly with local Baltimore County / Towson-area court familiarity
• Strong knowledge of Maryland civil procedure and court rules
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong research, analytical, and case management abilities
• Ability to manage a caseload independently while collaborating with a team
• Local presence in or near Towson, MD, or willingness to work on-site

Salary and Other Compensation:

The base salary for this position is between $130,000 – $160,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
