Job summary

USLI is hiring an underwriter to evaluate submissions, engage customers and build strong client relationships in a collaborative, growing team. The role emphasizes timely, accurate underwriting decisions and proactive communication with stakeholders.

You will partner with underwriting, business development, claims and IT to stay ahead of market trends and contribute to product development while delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years underwriting experience in Commercial Property and Casualty, Personal or M&P lines.
• Insurance-related course work (CPCU, RPLU, etc.) is a plus.
• Travel willingness to maintain customer interactions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite: Assess and manage submissions with precision according to guidelines and delegated authority.
• Customer engagement: Address quotes, re-quotes and endorsements with a customer-first mindset.
• Relationship building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers.
• Collaborative approach: Partner with Underwriting, Business Development, Claims, IT and more.
• Innovative contribution: Research market trends and support product development.
