Job summary

Origin Bank is offering an 8-week summer internship for college students to gain insight into the banking industry through daily business interactions and relationship building.

Intern responsibilities include assisting with loan prospect screening, organizing documents, and supporting commercial teams, while you develop skills in credit analysis, client service, and professional communications.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in time management, multitasking and prioritizing projects.
• General understanding of the banking industry.
• Able to work independently or with a team.
• Must have at minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA.

Responsibilities

• Assist with screening loan prospects by modeling company financials, creating pricing models, and performing company due diligence.
• Assist Commercial team with assimilating, filing, and distributing financial and collateral documentation.
• Organize and maintain customer files to assist Relationship Banker/Manager's ability to manage portfolios.
• Maintain current and ongoing knowledge of bank products and services; assist Relationship Banker/Manager with daily customer servicing.
• Provide ongoing support to commercial/business relationship managers for collateral and financial statement tracking and exception management.
• Prepare a mock loan presentation illustrating understanding of lending processes with data and risk assessments.
• Attend ribbon cuttings, meetings with lenders to engage with local communities served.
• Participate in weekly meetings and educational sessions on credit analysis, leadership, and banking operations.
