Position Summary

The Commercial Lending Coordinator provides end-to-end operational coordination for assigned commercial credit requests and portfolio activities. Reporting to the Director of Lending Operations, the role partners with Commercial Lenders, Credit, Loan Documentation, Loan Operations, customers, and third parties to keep C&I, commercial real estate, and construction transactions organized and moving forward. The Coordinator tracks status, ownership, requirements, and deadlines; coordinates information and handoffs; and escalates delays or unresolved issues. This position does not replace the Commercial Lender's ownership of the customer and credit relationship or Credit's independent analysis; it creates the visibility and follow-through needed for timely, accurate, and controlled execution.

  • Workflow coordination:Manage assigned commercial requests from initial information collection through underwriting, approval, documentation, closing, funding, and post-closing follow-up; maintain current status, owner, next action, and expected completion date.
  • Customer and lender support:Coordinate clear, timely requests for financial, entity, collateral, insurance, and closing information; prepare routine correspondence and help lenders anticipate meetings, closings, maturities, and other deadlines.
  • Transaction support:Support C&I, owner-occupied and investment CRE, and commercial construction transactions by organizing required borrower, guarantor, property, project, title, appraisal, environmental, budget, draw, and other due-diligence information.
  • Approval and closing:Track approval conditions, coordinate complete handoffs to Loan Documentation, support closing and funding logistics, and elevate unresolved conditions before they create delays or control concerns.
  • Portfolio administration:Track annual reviews, maturities, financial reporting, covenants, insurance, collateral requirements, construction draws, and other portfolio ticklers using Bank-established advance-notice schedules.
  • Documentation and post-closing:Review information for completeness and consistency, coordinate routine booking or documentation questions, maintain required electronic loan records, and track post-closing exceptions through resolution or escalation.
  • Risk and communication:Follow Bank procedures, protect confidential information, communicate requirements and status professionally, avoid duplicate or conflicting requests, and promptly raise material delays, missing information, or exceptions.
  • Process and team contribution:Provide reliable workflow updates, identify recurring handoff or documentation issues, recommend practical improvements, use approved technology effectively, and cross-train to support dependable backup coverage.
  • Other duties:Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Approximately 3+ years of commercial banking, commercial loan administration, lending support, loan documentation, loan operations, or related experience; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Working knowledge of the commercial loan lifecycle and experience supporting C&I and commercial real estate transactions.
  • Ability to read commercial loan approvals, identify conditions and required documentation, recognize missing or inconsistent information, and elevate material issues appropriately.
  • Strong organization, project management, attention to detail, judgment, and ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work professionally with commercial customers, lenders, and cross-functional partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn commercial lending, document, and workflow systems.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Preferred: Experience with commercial construction lending, construction draws, loan documentation, or construction-loan administration.
Attendance, Schedule, and Travel
  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance during the Bank's normal business schedule. Additional hours may occasionally be required to support transaction closings, funding, or time-sensitive portfolio needs.
  • Occasional local travel may be required for closings, meetings, training, or other business needs.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position generally operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment. The role requires frequent communication, review of detailed information, and the ability to remain stationary or move within the workplace as needed.
