Role Description

The Commercial Lender is responsible for developing and managing commercial banking relationships by providing financing solutions, deposit services, and other bank products that meet the needs of business clients. This is a highly customer-focused, revenue-generating role that combines business development, credit analysis, portfolio management, and relationship banking. The Commercial Lender is expected to build long-term client relationships, generate new loan and deposit growth, and deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lending & Credit: Generating new leads through active business development.$10M of new loan generation per year and $1MM or more in new deposits gathering.Expect to underwrite your loans that are under $1MM.
  • Loan Documentation & Compliance: Preparing loan requests and documentation while ensuring loan files meet regulatory requirements.
  • Portfolio Management: Supporting the monitoring of existing loans by tracking covenants, collecting financial statements, and assisting with reports on past-due loans and maturities.
  • Customer Relationship Support: This is a full-time customer facing position that will require some nights and weekends for client events, calls and emails.Attending client meetings to learn needs assessments and loan discussions, and providing client support for documentation and inquiries.
  • Business Development Exposure: Learning to identify opportunities for cross-selling and assisting with prospect research and networking.The goal of this position is to development clients into a relationship and not just a transaction.The lender will need to gather deposits, treasury services, mortgage opportunities as well as commercial loan needs.
  • Communication: Call, email or text customers back the same day.This is mandatory for all employees.
Education and Experience
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field like Business, Finance, or Accounting is generally preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience as a Credit Analyst or Lender with a financial institution.
