Job summary

MPE Services, Inc. in Alabama is seeking a seasoned Restaurant Service Technician to join our installation and repair team.

You will diagnose and repair commercial cooking equipment, install refrigeration systems, and advise on upgrades with a focus on reliability for local restaurants and commercial kitchens. The role offers flexible hours, on-call nights and weekends, and a path from field work to home-based dispatch.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience and/or training in commercial cooking and refrigeration equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose commercial cooking equipment performance through observation, testing, and setup.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment to perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair.
• Read, understand, and quote customer prices.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment to perform service of unit.
• Lift, carry, pull, and push components and/or equipment to test, set up, or maintain equipment.
• Give and take written and verbal instructions.
• Complete documents to verify work performed.
• Operate a commercial vehicle and trailer.
• Work flexible hours as required, as well as on-call nights and weekends when assigned.
• Explain service charges and work performed to the customer.
