Job summary

Colleton County Government is seeking a dedicated, self-motivated individual to support operations at the Commercial Kitchen, Museum, and Farmers Market. The role reports to the Museum, Farmers Market and Commercial Kitchen Manager and emphasizes excellent customer service and coordination of event rentals.

The position requires a Monday–Friday schedule with weekend availability for event rentals, a pre-employment drug screen, and a satisfactory background check.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently and maintain flexibility regarding event rental times and spaces.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day operation of the Commercial Kitchen, including monitoring rental schedules, equipment maintenance, and inspections.
• Manage the Market Hall event rentals.
• Ensure Market Hall is prepared for rentals (clean space, trash emptied, AV equipment working).
• Set up and break down tables and chairs as needed.
• Meet renters to open/close the space for events, and assist with rental events in the gallery as needed. Training provided.

Commercial Kitchen and Event Rental Specialist

Colleton County Government is accepting applications/resumes for a dedicated, self-motivated applicant to join our fun and hardworking team with our work in the community at the Colleton Museum, Farmers Market, and Commercial Kitchen. Reports directly to the Museum, Farmers Market and Commercial Kitchen Manager.

Key Duties:

• Assists with the day-to-day operation of the Commercial Kitchen, which includes but is not limited to monitoring kitchen rental schedules, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, being the point of contact for required inspections, enforcing kitchen rental agreements, and providing excellent customer service.


• Manage the Market Hall event rentals.


• Will make sure the Market Hall is prepared for rentals, which includes ensuring the space is clean, trashcans are empty and available, and A/V equipment is in working order.


• May set up and break down tables and chairs in the event space.


• Will meet with the renter to open the space for each event and return to secure the building at the end of each event.


• May also assist with rental events in the gallery at the Colleton Civic Center. Training will be provided.

Must be able to work independently and maintain flexibility regarding event rental times and spaces. This is a Monday- Friday position during regular operating hours, with flexibility depending on event rental activities. Weekend availability is required due to event rental schedules. A pre-employment drug screen and satisfactory background check are also required.
