Job summary

Bopat Electric is seeking experienced Commercial Journeyman Electricians to join our Maryland construction team. You will read prints, lay out installations, and handle commercial electrical work across new construction, renovations, tenant fit-outs, and upgrades with a focus on quality and safety.

Join a solid field crew and help mentor apprentices while ensuring projects meet NEC standards and safety procedures. Overtime and double time may apply based on project needs.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland Journeyman or Master Electrician license
• 5+ years of commercial/industrial electrical construction experience
• Ability to read prints and interpret drawings
• Independent layout and installation of commercial electrical systems
• Experience with EMT and rigid conduit, feeders, panels, and switchgear
• Familiarity with 120/208V and 277/480V three‑phase systems
• Commitment to NEC codes and jobsite safety

Responsibilities

• Install commercial electrical systems on new construction, renovations, tenant fit-outs, and upgrades
• Read blueprints and interpret electrical drawings for layouts
• Install and bend conduit, pull feeders and branch circuits, complete wiring and terminations
• Install panels, switchgear, transformers, lighting, power distribution equipment
• Plan daily work, identify material needs, complete installations with minimal supervision
• Collaborate with foremen, project managers and other trades to keep projects moving
• Mentor apprentices while maintaining quality and productivity

WHAT WE NEED

Bopat Electric is looking for experienced Commercial Journeyman Electricians to join our construction team in Maryland.

We're looking for electricians who know their trade, can read prints, handle layout, and take ownership of their work without constant supervision. Our projects include commercial new construction, renovations, tenant fit-outs, and electrical upgrades.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Install commercial electrical systems on new construction, renovations, tenant fit-outs, and electrical upgrades

Read blueprints, interpret electrical drawings, and independently lay out installations

Install and bend conduit, pull feeders and branch circuits, and complete wiring and terminations

Install panels, switchgear, transformers, lighting, power distribution, and other commercial electrical equipment

Plan daily work, identify material needs, and complete assigned installations with minimal supervision

Work with foremen, project managers, and other trades to keep projects moving

Help train and mentor apprentices while maintaining quality and productivity

Follow NEC requirements and jobsite safety procedures

WHAT YOU BRING

Active Maryland Journeyman or Master Electrician license, or a qualifying license from another jurisdiction with applicable reciprocity

5+ years of commercial or industrial electrical construction experience

Ability to independently read prints, perform layout, and complete commercial electrical installations

Strong hands‑on experience with EMT and rigid conduit, feeders, panels, transformers, switchgear, and terminations

Experience working with commercial three‑phase electrical systems, including 120/208V and 277/480V

Working knowledge of the NEC and commercial construction safety practices

Ability to work independently and help direct apprentices when needed

Reliable transportation and ability to report to project sites throughout Maryland

Valid driver's license

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred

Compensation ranges may vary based on individual experience. Final offers may differ from the posted range depending on a candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and the specific role offered. This role includes overtime and double time eligibility in addition to the base rate.

$30 - $45 USD
