Job summary

ServiceMaster Clean of Petal is seeking a Commercial Janitorial Floater in an on-site role with an evening shift from 4:30pm to 12:30am. This full-time position requires a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and a willingness to pass a drug test and background check.

The floater will cover buildings, perform cleaning duties, manage supplies, and ensure safety protocols. Prior janitorial experience is a plus, and training is provided to dedicated, punctual candidates.

Qualifications

• Requires valid driver’s license and clean driving record and ability to pass a drug test and background check.
• 1–2 years’ custodial/janitorial experience is a plus but not required.
• Experience with professional janitorial services, office complexes, hotels, hospitals or schools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties for facilities using ServiceMaster products, tools and procedures.
• Cleaning duties include sweeping, mopping, polishing, trash removal, windows, and moving furniture as needed.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Use proper PPE where required.
• Open and lock facilities and manage security system as required.

• COMMERCIAL JANITORIAL FLOATER $11.00 PER HOUR
• JOB POSITION DESCRIPTION: FULL TIME EVENING HOURS 4:30pm-12:30am
• MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LICENSE
• MUST PASS DRUG TEST & BACKGROUND CHECK

This position covers buildings for employees who are absent or buildings without a regular cleaner. Requires driving a company vehicle - so must have valid drivers license, clean driving record and background plus pass a drug test. Floaters are responsible for creating cleaner and healthier environments for our customer’s buildings and grounds by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned:

• Perform all cleaning duties for facilities using provided ServiceMaster products, tools and procedures
• Cleaning duties include: sweeping, mopping, polishing, trash, windows and cleaning and moving furniture and equipment etc..
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Use proper PPE where required
• Opens and locks facilities, enable and disable security system as required.
• 1-2 years’ experience as a custodian, janitor, housekeeper is a plus but not required
• Will provide on the job training to those with strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Experience working for a professional janitorial company, office complex, hotel, hospital or school is a plus.
• The ability to be flexible, work at a fast-paced and in a multi-tasked job is a must.
• Contribute to a positive work climate with a pleasant attitude and contribute to the overall team effort including being in uniform, dependable and on time
• Has respect and understanding for co-workers and customers
• Must be able to communicate in English

Physical Demands and Qualifications

• Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching over head, reaching forward. Must be able to lift and and/or carry 25lbs.
• Ability to read cleaning instructions
• Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and uses
