We are seeking to hire a COMMERCIAL & INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR for our Lewiston, Maine office. The role involves learning to prepare comprehensive estimates with minimal supervision, under the guidance of the Area Operations Manager. The estimator will produce accurate, detailed estimates and collaborate with the Preconstruction Manager to transition completed estimates to project management. The candidate will also be trained to liaise with electrical supply houses, contractors, architects, engineers, and clients.

Responsibilities:

1. Attend pre-bid, scope review, and other relevant meetings.
2. Bid projects with detailed proposals to ensure accuracy.
3. Review and interpret specifications relevant to specific projects for estimate preparation.
4. Understand and interpret all drawings and documents accurately.
5. Recognize drawing symbols related to various systems (fire alarm, lighting, motor controls, etc.).
6. Use drawing scales and takeoff devices effectively.
7. Navigate the Accubid estimating system proficiently.
8. Collaborate with general contractors, architects, engineers, and clients as needed.
9. Familiarize with local vendors and communicate specifications and quantities to obtain accurate and competitive pricing, maintaining communication throughout the bidding process.

Basic Qualifications:

1. At least 3 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator, mainly in Commercial applications.
2. Industry knowledge is advantageous.
3. Proficiency with current electrical estimating software.
4. Ability to identify discrepancies in documents and formulate questions promptly.
5. Experience developing estimates at various design stages.
6. Knowledge of electrical work and materials.
7. Ability to perform neat and professional takeoffs and data entry.
8. Experience with takeoff systems for motor controls, lighting, fire alarms, A/V, wiring, grounding, power distribution, generators, UPS, etc.

Qualifications:

1. Experience with Bluebeam PDF software.
2. Hands-on experience in Commercial & Industrial electrical fields.
3. Familiarity with Accubid estimating software.
4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
