Job summary

The Cobb County School District in Marietta, GA is seeking an HVAC Technician to install, repair, and maintain refrigeration, HVAC, and related equipment across district facilities. You will support Maintenance Services, read blueprints, troubleshoot systems, and use test equipment to ensure safe operation and compliance.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Georgia driver’s license, and 2 years of experience in commercial HVAC repair/installation preferred; state licenses

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Georgia driver's license required.
• 2 years of experience in commercial HVAC repair/installation preferred; state license accepted in lieu of experience.
• Physical activities include walking, standing, kneeling, stairs and ladders; ability to lift 75 pounds.
• Strong written and oral communication; computer skills; ability to read blueprints and schematics; operate tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Promotes good relations with customers and peers.
• Provides on-call support 24/7.
• Completes paperwork for maintenance database and meets state/local requirements.
• Maintains district vehicle parts inventory and returns overages to inventory.
• Cleans, inspects, maintains, and installs equipment assigned to the trade.
• Reads blueprints and building plans; recommends equipment and supplies for purchase.
• Reports safety issues to the appropriate administrator.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
