Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems. You will work independently to deliver quality workmanship in a safety-focused environment.

The role requires 4+ years in commercial HVAC, EPA Universal Certification, and strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting. A valid driver’s license and excellent communication skills are essential, with on-call rotation as part of

Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years of commercial HVAC service experience.
EPA Universal Certification.
High school diploma or GED.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently, manage service calls efficiently, and participate in an on-call rotation.
Commitment to workplace safety and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

Service & Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on commercial HVAC equipment, including rooftop units (RTUs), chillers, boilers, and split systems.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and pressure gauges.
Installation & System Setup: Install and configure HVAC/R equipment, including ductwork, piping, and electrical wiring, according to blueprints and technical specifications.
Refrigerant Management: Properly handle and recover refrigerants in compliance with EPA Section 608 regulations.
Customer Communication: Communicate equipment issues, recommended repairs, and maintenance solutions clearly to facility managers and business owners.
Documentation: Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and equipment performance data within a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Safety & Compliance: Follow established safety procedures, industry standards, and company policies while performing all service and maintenance activities.
