Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting seeks a Commercial HVAC Technician with hot-side kitchen equipment experience to join our client’s facilities team in a fast-paced foodservice setting. You will install, maintain, and repair rooftop units, ovens, fryers, and ventilation systems in commercial kitchens.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of experience, strong diagnostic skills across electrical, gas, and mechanical systems, and the ability to work in hot kitchen environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commercial HVAC service and repair.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC controls, motors, compressors, and burners.
• Experience with commercial kitchen hot-side equipment such as fryers, ovens, and grills preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, gas, and mechanical systems.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in high-temperature kitchen environments.
• EPA Certification for refrigerant handling preferred.
• Comfortable climbing ladders and working in tight spaces.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC and hot-side kitchen equipment (rooftop units, ovens, fryers, ventilation).
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve heating, cooling, and refrigeration issues in commercial settings.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to maximize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals for proper service.
• Maintain service records, maintenance logs, and parts inventory.
• Communicate repair recommendations and service needs with clients and management.
• Respond to emergency service calls to restore essential kitchen and HVAC systems.
