Conditioned Air Systems Inc. is seeking a Commercial Start-up Technician to launch and optimize high‑performance HVAC systems in Gainesville, GA. The role covers startup for residential, commercial, industrial, and government projects, requiring 3+ years of HVAC startup experience and Universal EPA 608 certification.

You will interpret complex specs, troubleshoot issues during startup, calibrate controls, and ensure code compliance on new construction sites in a family‑owned environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years HVAC service/startup experience.
• Universal EPA 608 certification is required.
• Knowledge of chillers, boilers, air handlers, and commercial refrigeration systems.
• Ability to read and troubleshoot control wiring and high-voltage wiring diagrams.
• Understanding of construction site safety standards and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-functional inspections and start-up procedures for commercial HVAC systems in new construction.
• Interpret blueprints, submittals, and manuals to meet engineering specs.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, gas, and airflow issues during startup.
• Calibrate controls, thermostats, and sensors to optimize performance and energy efficiency.
• Conduct high-stakes repairs on compressors, condensers, and piping systems including brazing of refrigerant lines.
• Collaborate with commissioning agents and installation teams to verify performance and code compliance.
• Communicate status updates and safety protocols to site supervisors and customers.

• Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: Universal EPA 608, Manufacturer Trainings, and Valid Driver’s License.

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Communicate technical status updates and safety protocols clearly to site supervisors and customers to ensure project transparency.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC service, startup, or a certified technical program.
• Universal EPA 608 certification is strictly required for this position.
• Deep technical knowledge of chillers, boilers, air handlers, and commercial refrigeration systems.
• Proficiency in reading and troubleshooting control wiring and high‑voltage wiring diagrams.
• Strong understanding of construction site safety standards and OSHA requirements.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Completion of a degree or certified program from an accredited HVAC technical school.
• Previous experience working directly with third‑party commissioning agents.
• Specialized manufacturer training certifications for major commercial HVAC brands.
