Job description

This is a full-time position located in St. Louis, MO and would require relocation.

$5,000.00 Sign-On Bonus

Summary of Job: Primarily responsible for performing repairs and maintenance to a variety of equipment including refrigeration, air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, compressors, light commercial furnaces, boilers, burners, intake and exhaust fans, economizers and humidifiers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Check in with the office for scheduled jobs after the completion of each job and at the end of each workday.
  • Complete all company-provided forms possible during and at the end of each task.
  • Responsible for time management of jobs scheduled each day.
  • Check in with clients at the beginning and end of each task to ensure they are informed throughout the visit.
  • Obtain client signature on company provided forms where applicable.
  • Record time spent at each job on the weekly time sheet upon completion of each task.
  • Hand in paperwork, checks, or cash at the end of each week for processing.
  • Ensure all materials used for each task are listed properly on the company provided forms.
  • Answer all office pages/calls in a timely manner.
  • Check in as needed to ensure office dispatcher and/or field supervisor are aware of your status.
  • Secure parts and tools needed throughout the day for various jobs as required.
  • Call in repairs to the estimator or field supervisor and provide the necessary info needed to quote the repair.
  • Consult field supervisor or dispatcher in times of uncertainty.
  • Communicate with customers clearly and confidently throughout the service.
  • Adjust communications to provide the best customer experience possible.
  • Create detailed job notes in the customer's account for future reference.
  • Share thoughts/experiences with coworkers in meetings and one-to-one interactions.
  • Recommend process improvements to your manager to improve efficiency/effectiveness.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace both in a customer's property and your company vehicle.
  • Work safely and help ensure that those you work with are working safely.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Understanding of basic refrigeration cycle and ability to diagnose problems.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory and ability to troubleshoot basic electrical circuits.
  • Understanding of air treatment processes and ability to read mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of basic heating cycle and ability to diagnose problems.
  • General knowledge of safe working practices and federal/state OSHA requirements.

Essential Technical Skills Required:

  • Ability to install, repair, adjust, maintain, and troubleshoot various equipment including refrigerant controls, ice makers, heat pumps, split systems, and more.

Technician must be able to proficiently perform the following tasks:

  • Soldering
  • Brazing
  • Basic heat load calculations
  • Basic heat loss calculations

Physical Demands/Working Conditions: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and lift/move 50lbs and up. Must be able to work in various environmental conditions and communicate effectively.
