Job summary

Kelso Building Services is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician for commercial systems in the Phoenix area. You will diagnose, repair, and optimize large commercial and industrial equipment, including chillers, RTUs, AHUs, and VRF systems.

A safety-first mindset and a track record of quality service are essential. Responsibilities include commissioning equipment, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting electrical/controls issues, interpreting schematics, and mentoring apprentices.

Qualifications

• EPA 608 Universal Certification is required.
• 3+ years of commercial HVAC experience.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting capability across low and high voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair a variety of commercial HVAC equipment including chillers, RTUs, AHUs, VRF systems, and more.
• Commission and start up commercial HVAC equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance.
• Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on chillers, cooling towers, pumps, boilers, and supporting equipment.
• Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
• Keep accurate, timely documentation of all service work, repairs, and recommendations.
• Communicate clearly with customers about system conditions, findings, and next steps.
• Adhere to all safety requirements, EPA standards, and internal company policies.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and junior technicians when applicable.

• Valid driver's license in good standing.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces.
