Job description

Are you an experienced HVAC pro with a passion for quality work and great customer service? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where every day brings something new? If so, Interstate Mechanical is looking for someone like you to join our growing team as an HVAC Service Technician!

As an HVAC Service Technician, you'll be the face of our service team - keeping commercial systems running smoothly through maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs. You'll troubleshoot issues, recommend solutions, and get your hands dirty ensuring everything works as it should. Here's what you'll be up to:

1. Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on HVAC equipment including boilers, forced air, hydronic, split systems, package units, and exhaust systems.
2. Communicate clearly with customers about issues, repairs, and recommended services.
3. Conduct preventative maintenance, equipment replacements, and system modifications.
4. Review building layouts and specs to prepare for service calls or installations.
5. Maintain your service vehicle and keep accurate records of labor, materials, and job outcomes.
6. Provide on-call service as scheduled and collaborate with our admin team to keep things running like clockwork.
7. Stay current with manufacturer training and help your teammates troubleshoot technical issues.

What You Bring to the Table

Experience: 5+ years as a commercial HVAC technician or successful completion of an accredited apprentice program.

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Licensing: Universal EPA Certification is a must.

Skills: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities, effective communication, and a knack for customer service.

Tools of the Trade: Proficiency with hand tools, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and safety standards.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 80+ lbs, climb, kneel, crouch, and work in varied outdoor and indoor conditions.
