Job summary

Air Force HVAC is seeking a Senior Commercial HVAC Technician to lead field operations across Southeast Florida. This hands-on role focuses on complex diagnostics, repairs, and installations while mentoring junior technicians in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties.

You will troubleshoot VRF, VAV, rooftop, and package units, maintain high safety and workmanship standards, and communicate findings clearly to customers and management in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC field experience.
• Strong experience with VRF, VAV, rooftop units, package units, and commercial split systems.
• Advanced mechanical, electrical, airflow, and refrigerant diagnostic skills.
• Experience with commercial HVAC service, maintenance, repair, and installation.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment documentation.
• Comfortable troubleshooting complex systems independently.
• Mentor and support less-experienced technicians.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Experience with Jobber, Housecall Pro, or similar field-service software.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, airflow, controls, and refrigerant issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and identify potential equipment failures.
• Handle advanced service calls and technical issues escalated by other technicians.
• Support commercial equipment replacements and installations.
• Serve as a technical mentor to junior and mid-level technicians.
• Maintain high standards for workmanship, safety, efficiency, and code compliance.
• Communicate findings, repair recommendations, and equipment needs clearly with customers and management.
• Maintain accurate job notes, photos, parts usage, and service documentation.

About the Role

Air Force HVAC is a growing South Florida HVAC company providing commercial HVAC service, maintenance, repair, and installation throughout the tri-county area.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Commercial HVAC Technician who can handle complex diagnostics, repairs, and installations while serving as a technical leader for the field team.

This is a hands-on role — not a desk job. You’ll spend the majority of your time in the field troubleshooting equipment, completing repairs, supporting installations, and helping less-experienced technicians develop their skills.
