Position Responsibilities
- Works under minimum supervision to perform commercial (rooftop) service and maintenance calls, following company and customer safety protocols
- Analyzes, diagnoses, and resolves customer problems in a courteous, professional, timely, and accurate manner
- Diagnosis and performs service on commercial heating, air conditioning, boilers and associated equipment, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment and accessories
- Inspects equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
- Completes routine maintenance and equipment cleaning as needed or required
- Responsible for delivery and removal of parts and equipment needed to complete service work
- Records all required information on customer calls using a handheld device; completes forms and paperwork neatly and accurately
- Communicates with dispatch to ensure an accurate status report of activities and availability
- Delivers excellent customer service and sustains high levels of customer satisfaction
- Promotes products and services to the customer; communicates replacement product sales leads to Lead Coordinator
- Ensures company property, vehicles, and tools are maintained and accounted for
- Represents the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters
- Ensures vehicle is stocked, defects are returned to the branch, and stock is replenished as needed
- May train other commercial service/maintenance/install technicians
- Performs similar/other duties as needed or assigned

- Uses and maintains appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Does not remove or render ineffective safety guards, devices, or clothing
- Complies with general company rules and procedures
- Operates devices or equipment as prescribed
- Participates in safety initiatives, teams, or committees
- Reports all injuries or incidents immediately
- Provides input on developing safety initiatives and plans
- Does not perform acts that may endanger others
- Does not engage in pranks, contests, or rough behavior
- Works in compliance with applicable requirements
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with additional training and experience in all aspects of commercial HVAC; NATE certification preferred
- Must possess all valid licensing or certification as required by laws/regulations for the work area
- Skilled at servicing commercial rooftop heating, air conditioning, boilers and related equipment
- Proficient mechanical aptitude and ability to operate necessary tools and equipment
- Proficient at reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems
- Proficient in startup and balancing of airflow on commercial systems
- Proficient in installing basic duct fittings
- Skilled at troubleshooting and repairing refrigeration, hot water, steam boiler systems and related equipment
- Effective communication skills for customer interactions
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Two years’ experience performing service and maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment
- Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts
- Ability to access HVAC units in various environments (stairs, attics, crawl spaces, etc.) and to work in hot/cold, indoor/outdoor conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
