Job summary

Comfort Systems USA Mid South is seeking a Commercial HVAC Mechanic to join our construction team in Montgomery, AL. The role focuses on installing commercial HVAC equipment, refrigerant piping systems, and assisting with equipment startup on diverse projects.

Ideal candidates are dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently while upholding high quality standards. 40 hours per week with potential overtime and a strong commitment to on-site safety.

Qualifications

3+ years of commercial HVAC installation experience.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and control schematics.
Experience installing basic HVAC controls.
Knowledge of commercial HVAC startup procedures.
Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds and work from ladders or lifts.

Responsibilities

Install commercial HVAC equipment including split systems, DX units, package units, and ductless systems.
Install refrigerant piping, supports, insulation, valves, and accessories per drawings and specs.
Read blueprints, piping schematics, control drawings, and installation details.
Install basic HVAC controls including thermostats and sensors.
Perform startup and functional testing to verify proper operation.
Coordinate with project managers, foremen, electricians, pipefitters, and controls technicians.
Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow OSHA and company standards.
