Job summary

CloudKitchens is seeking an experienced HVAC/R technician to maintain and repair commercial systems across multiple sites in the Greater DMV area. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and support facility operations to ensure safe, efficient performance.

The role requires 5+ years in commercial HVAC/R, experience with rooftop units and ventilation or walk-in refrigeration, strong troubleshooting, and a valid driver’s license with local travel.

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites locally.

Responsibilities

• HVAC/R & Facilities Maintenance: perform preventive maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC/R systems (WIC/R, RTUs, exhaust fans, hoods, make-up air units, DOAS systems).
• Facility Operations Support: conduct site inspections, basic electrical and plumbing maintenance, coordinate with vendors.
• System Performance & Troubleshooting: use BMS to monitor performance, provide remote troubleshooting, review startup/testing reports.
• New Site Support: assist with new facility openings by verifying installation and system functionality, identify issues early and coordinate corrective actions.

What you’ll do

HVAC/R & Facilities Maintenance

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC/R systems(WIC/R, RTUs, exhaust fans, hoods, make-up air units, DOAS systems)
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues across multiple sites

Facility Operations Support

• Conduct site inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently
• Handle basic electrical and plumbing maintenance as needed
• Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and warranty work

System Performance & Troubleshooting

• Use Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor performance and diagnose issues
• Provide remote troubleshooting support to onsite teams and vendors
• Review reports (startup, testing, balancing) to verify system performance

New Site Support

• Assist with new facility openings by verifying installation and system functionality
• Identify issues early and coordinate corrective actions

What your week looks like

• 70% hands-on HVAC/R maintenance & repair
• 10% inspections, reporting, and system verification

What We’re Looking For

Required

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC/R experience
• Experience working with rooftop units, ventilation systems, or refrigeration(Walk-Ins)
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites locally

Preferred

• HVAC Universal certification (EPA, trade school, or equivalent)
• Experience in restaurants, hospitality, or multi-site facilities
• Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems
• Field-based role across the Greater DMV
• Local travel between sites (home daily)
• Monday–Friday schedule with on-call rotation and overtime opportunities
