Job summary

Total Comfort Group in the Mid-Atlantic is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, service, and repair commercial HVAC equipment at customer sites across MD, DC, and VA. You will perform preventive maintenance, startup testing, and equipment evaluations.

The successful candidate has 3+ years of field experience, EPA Universal Certification, a valid driver's license, and strong problem-solving and customer-service skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial HVAC service experience preferred.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience on RTUs, split systems, package units, heat pumps, air handlers, and ventilation equipment.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS), Direct Digital Controls (DDC), and HVAC controls preferred.
• HVAC licenses/certifications in MD/VA/DC a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems and equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and system evaluations.
• Service rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, package units, heat pumps, air handlers, exhaust systems, make-up air units, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigerant, airflow, controls, and building automation issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Perform equipment startups, testing, commissioning, and operational verification.
• Communicate repair recommendations, deficiencies, and maintenance needs to customers and management.
• Complete service reports, work orders, and documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
• Participate in an on-call rotation as required.
