Job summary

Kelso Building Services in Houston, TX is hiring HVAC Preventative Maintenance Technicians for our Houston operations. This is a full-time field role focused on maintaining commercial and industrial HVAC systems across a variety of building types.

You will perform scheduled maintenance, diagnose issues, read schematics, and keep thorough service records. Travel to job sites with safety and codes compliance as priorities; EPA/NATE certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• HVAC maintenance or service experience required.
• HVAC systems knowledge, electrical and mechanical understanding.
• EPA 608 certification preferred and reading blueprints/diagrams.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled maintenance and inspections on HVAC systems.
• Identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues.
• Read wiring diagrams, schematics and manufacturer docs.
• Maintain service records of work and parts used.
• Work safely and compliantly with codes and company policy.

About This Role We're hiring HVAC Preventative Maintenance Technicians for our Houston, TX operations. This is a full-time field role focused on maintaining commercial and industrial HVAC systems across a variety of building types.

What You'll Do

• Complete scheduled maintenance and inspections to keep systems running efficiently and extend equipment life.
• Identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues across a range of HVAC platforms.
• Read and work from wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer documentation.
• Keep clients and team members informed on service findings and recommended next steps.
• Maintain thorough service records covering work completed, parts used, and system conditions.
• Perform all work in compliance with safety standards, applicable codes, and company policy.

What You'll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC technical training or certification preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in an HVAC Maintenance or Service role.
• Solid understanding of HVAC systems, electrical circuits, and mechanical components.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability.
• Effective communicator with solid customer service instincts.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites.

Preferred Qualifications

• NATE certification or equivalent.
• Experience with digital service tools or mobile work order platforms.
