Job summary

Spurk HVAC is expanding its commercial installation team in the Pittsburgh area and seeks experienced Commercial HVAC Installation Technicians. You will install a range of commercial systems, read blueprints, and work closely with project managers to keep schedules on track.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of commercial HVAC installation experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• EPA 608 Certification or willingness to obtain it; OSHA 10/30 preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install commercial heating, cooling, ventilation, and related systems on varied projects.
• Read blueprints and installation specs to ensure accurate builds.
• Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades to maintain schedules.
• Perform start-ups, system testing, and verify proper operation before completion.
• Maintain clean, safe jobsites and follow OSHA and site codes.

What You’ll Do

As a Commercial HVAC Installation Technician, you’ll install commercial heating, cooling, ventilation, refrigeration, ductwork, piping, and related mechanical systems on a variety of commercial construction and retrofit projects. You’ll read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and installation specifications to ensure projects are completed accurately and according to design.

Working closely with project managers, field supervisors, and other trades, you’ll help maintain project schedules, perform equipment start-ups, complete system testing, and verify proper system operation before project completion. You’ll maintain clean, organized jobsites while following OSHA regulations, company safety procedures, and local building codes to deliver high-quality installations on every project.

Experienced technicians may also assist with coordinating daily jobsite activities, supporting less experienced installers, maintaining production schedules, and helping ensure projects meet company quality standards.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking experienced commercial HVAC installation professionals with at least three years of commercial installation experience. Candidates should have a strong understanding of commercial HVAC equipment, duct systems, piping, controls, and installation procedures, along with the ability to interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.

Successful candidates are dependable, safety-focused, and committed to producing quality work while collaborating effectively with teammates and other trades. EPA 608 Certification is required or the willingness to obtain it for qualified mid-level candidates. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and be comfortable working on ladders, lifts, rooftops, and active construction sites.

Lead Installation Opportunities Available

Technicians with extensive commercial installation experience and previous crew leadership responsibilities may have the opportunity to lead installation projects. Lead technicians oversee daily jobsite operations, coordinate crews and materials, mentor apprentices and installers, communicate with project managers, and help ensure projects remain on schedule while maintaining Spurk HVAC’s standards for quality, productivity, and safety.
