Job summary

GSM Services in Gastonia, NC seeks an Associate Designer to join its growing team. This role focuses on drafting and HVAC system design within a fast-paced, collaborative environment, contributing to construction drawings and technical documentation.

You will read plans, coordinate with Project Managers, and support field teams while learning BIM/VDC processes. A high school diploma or GED is required, with preferred drafting/design training and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; additional training or education in drafting, design, construction technology, mechanical systems, or a related field preferred
• Basic knowledge or experience with AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Revit
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Ability to learn and work with design and document management tools such as Bluebeam Revu (experience a plus)
• Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new systems

Responsibilities

• Assist with creating and updating construction drawings and technical documentation
• Support design and coordination efforts using industry software tools
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents
• Collaborate with Designers, Project Managers, and field teams
• Help resolve technical challenges and contribute to project success
• Maintain accurate data entry, material information, and documentation
