Job summary

GSM Services in North Carolina is seeking an Associate Designer to advance drafting and design of commercial HVAC systems. You will create and update construction drawings, interpret plans, and coordinate with Designers and project teams in a fast-paced environment.

This entry-to-mid level role offers hands-on learning in VDC/BIM processes, Revit and AutoCAD usage, and growth within a 4th-generation family-owned company committed to quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; additional training or education in drafting, design, construction technology, mechanical systems, or a related field preferred.
• Basic knowledge or experience with AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Revit.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Ability to learn and work with design and document management tools such as Bluebeam Revu (experience a plus).
• Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with creating and updating construction drawings and technical documentation.
• Support design and coordination efforts using industry software tools.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.
• Collaborate with Designers, Project Managers, and field teams.
• Help resolve technical challenges and contribute to project success.
• Maintain accurate data entry, material information, and documentation.
