Job summary

Franklin Interiors is seeking a Commercial Flooring Project Manager to oversee execution of commercial flooring projects from start to finish. You will coordinate installation, manage crews, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze project parameters to establish a project schedule based on client’s completion date expectation, project scope, building conditions and lead times; monitor status against schedule.
  • Supervise delivery and installation crews with daily delivery and installation of products to achieve safe, clean, and damage-free installations.
  • Schedule delivery to accommodate efficient installation in coordination with site managers and installers.
  • Coordinate and communicate project scope or product changes to meet client expectations and timing.
  • Plan and implement prevention measures prior to installation with appropriate client representatives and site visits.
  • Solve unforeseen problems such as incorrect shipments or missing products by coordinating with design staff and procurement.
  • Investigate and complete punch list issues.
  • Continuously improve scheduling, documentation and communication processes to boost profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure safe, clean, and damage-free installations and enforce jobsite safety.
  • Complete punch lists, change orders and approvals with proper documentation.
  • Assess and communicate project status daily and inform leadership of crew performance.
  • On-site problem solving to meet labor hours and financial goals.
  • Plan installation time and crew size at Pre-install meeting and assign tasks accordingly.

Job description

Position Summary:

As a Commercial Flooring Project Manager, your role is crucial in overseeing and managing the execution of commercial flooring projects from start to finish. You are responsible for coordinating all aspects of the flooring installation from initiation to closeout to ensure that the project is completed efficiently, on time, and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.

Performance Requirements:

The job will typically require the employee to meet the following primary performance requirements.

  1. Review and analyze project parameters to establish a project schedule based on client’s completion date expectation, project scope, building conditions and manufacturing lead times. Continuously monitor project status against the project schedule.
  2. Supervise internal and external delivery and installation crews with the daily delivery and installation of products to and in customer facilities to achieve safe, clean, and damage free installations.
  3. Schedules delivery to accommodate efficient installation with Franklin Operations, Site Managers, and installers. Communicate with general contractors and building trade subcontractors to schedule flooring installation in coordination with onsite construction activity.
  4. Coordinates and communicates project scope or product purchase changes and additions to accommodate client’s expectations and timing demands.
  5. Ensure planning and prevention measures prior to installation by scheduling meetings with the installation service provider and appropriate client representative, as well as a final site-visit.
  6. Problem solves unforeseen problems such as incorrect product shipments, missing products, and spec errors by involving design staff, locating needed inventory among Franklin Interiors stock, from local distribution, or by expediting emergency shipment from the manufacturer.
  7. Investigate and complete punch list issues.
  8. Continuously develops, measures, and modifies project scheduling, documentation and communications processes to improve project outcomes in terms of profitability, customer satisfaction and retention.
  9. Accountable for safe, clean, and damage free installations as well as understanding and enforcing jobsite safety.
  10. Accurately completes all required written documentation including punch lists, change orders, returned product forms, and attains proper customer signoffs and approvals on delivery tickets, punch lists, and change orders.
  11. Evaluates and communicates project status daily and communicates crew/individual performance to Construction Director of Operations.
  12. Conducts on-site problem solving and strives to meet all labor hours and financial goals on assigned projects.
  13. Plans project installation time and crew size at Pre-install meeting, prioritizes and assigns project tasks, while effectively utilizing assistants as necessary.
  14. Communicate and collaborate with internal flooring sales team and external staff, contractors, and client representatives during installation. Interfaces with designated customer representative so that problems encountered, and pressure situations are transparent.

Job Specifications:
Work Related Experience:
