The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can take ownership of a jobsite, manage labor efficiently, coordinate with Project Managers and General Contractors, and drive successful installations from mobilization through punch and closeout.

What You'll Do as the Field Superintendent - Commercial Flooring:

  • Lead day-to-day field operations for large commercial flooring installations nationwide
  • Direct and manage hourly installation crews, including work assignments, productivity, attendance, and performance expectations
  • Coordinate daily manpower needs based on schedule, scope, and production goals
  • Maintain accountability for crew efficiency, quality, safety, and project execution
  • Review project drawings, specifications, layouts, installation plans, and field conditions before work begins
  • Coordinate installation sequencing with General Contractors, other trades, and internal Project Management
  • Verify substrates, materials, site readiness, and installation conditions before crews begin work
  • Identify field issues early and communicate RFIs, scope concerns, material needs, and schedule risks to the Project Manager
  • Monitor labor hours and production rates against project budgets and efficiency targets
  • Drive installation quality across carpet, resilient flooring, tile, specialty flooring, and related commercial applications
  • Ensure materials, equipment, tools, and staging are organized to support uninterrupted production
  • Maintain accurate daily field reports, manpower records, progress updates, and project documentation
  • Conduct punch walks and ensure deficiencies are resolved quickly and professionally
  • Enforce jobsite safety requirements and maintain clean, organized work areas
  • Build productive relationships with clients, General Contractors, field teams, and internal leadership
  • Travel nationwide for active installations, typically working approximately 6 weeks onsite followed by 1 week off

Must-Haves as the Field Superintendent - Commercial Flooring:

  • 5+ years of commercial flooring installation, field supervision, or comparable construction leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of commercial flooring installation methods, materials, sequencing, and quality standards
  • Direct experience supervising hourly employees and installation crews
  • Experience managing labor productivity, production rates, and jobsite performance
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, flooring plans, specifications, and installation details
  • Strong understanding of field scheduling, manpower planning, and trade coordination
  • Ability to identify site-readiness, substrate, material, and installation issues before they disrupt production
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to hold crews accountable while maintaining a productive team environment
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States
  • Comfortable with a travel schedule of approximately 6 weeks on the road followed by 1 week off
  • Ability to remain responsive during active project installations, including occasional evenings or weekends as project conditions require

Nice-to-Haves as the Field Superintendent - Commercial Flooring:

  • Hospitality, casino, hotel, convention center, or large-scale commercial flooring experience
  • Experience managing crews on fast-track or occupied renovation projects
  • Experience with carpet, LVT, VCT, sheet goods, tile, resilient flooring, and specialty flooring systems
  • Experience supervising multiple flooring crews or large hourly labor teams
  • Bluebeam or similar construction software experience
  • OSHA 30 or other formal safety training
  • Experience tracking labor efficiency against estimated production rates
  • Background working closely with Project Managers on cost control, scheduling, and project closeout

Our Client Offers:
