Job summary

Advantage Flooring Services, a Central Ohio commercial flooring contractor, is seeking an Estimator who can produce accurate bids and support project teams. You will review drawings and specs, perform quantity takeoffs, source pricing, and build complete bid packages to win competitive awards.

Applicants should have 2+ years of estimating experience in Division 9, familiarity with flooring products, and proficiency in Excel and estimating software.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial flooring or Division 9 estimating experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Excel.
• Knowledge of commercial flooring products, installation methods, and standards.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to Central Ohio.
• Strong communication with vendors and customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial flooring projects (carpet tile, broadloom, ceramic/porcelain, LVT/VCT, sheet vinyl, base, and related sundries).
• Review drawings, specifications, and addenda; perform quantity takeoffs and scope analysis.
• Source material pricing from vendors and apply current labor rates, equipment, and delivery costs.
• Build complete bid packages, including labor, material, freight, use tax, and other project costs.
• Coordinate with project managers, vendors, and general contractors during the bidding process.
• Maintain and update estimate templates, material databases, and pricing information.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and jobsite walks as needed.
• Support value engineering and alternate pricing when requested.
• Track bid results and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating accuracy.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites within Central Ohio.
• Strong communication skills for vendor and customer interaction.

Preferred

• Experience with commercial flooring manufacturers (Shaw, Mohawk, Interface, Mannington, Johnsonite, Mapei, Ardex, etc.).
• Familiarity with Ohio building codes, prevailing wage, and tax-exempt project requirements.
• Background in project management or field installation.
