Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Commercial Service Technician to independently service and maintain security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems. You will read blueprints and diagrams to ensure proper operation and compliance.

The role requires 3+ years in fire and life safety, a valid license where applicable, and strong communication with customers and teams. Travel to job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, if driving role.
• Strong working knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems.
• Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with codes and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security and low-voltage systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and manuals.
• Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors.
