Job summary

Vertiv in Westerville, Ohio is seeking a Commercial Estimator to provide pre-sales technical expertise on medium and low voltage switchgear, switchboards, panelboards and busway, supporting the sales team and customers throughout the proposal process.

You will collaborate with sales and engineering to develop product recommendations, perform equipment selections and calculations, and help ensure accurate, cost-effective bids while pursuing new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; electrical engineering preferred.
• 2+ years commercial or relevant industrial experience.
• Experience in scope review and formal proposal development preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of electrical distribution products and systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop technically sound, tailored solutions from customer requirements and RFPs.
• Perform equipment selections and calculations for LV switchgear, switchboards, panelboards and busway.
• Apply Quote Configurator tool to provide comprehensive quote support.
• Review service orders and provide technical guidance through the order workflow.
• Support Vertiv sales and customers with technical input.
• Analyze customer specs and one-lines, propose product offerings.
• Follow up on opportunities to determine win/loss.
• Assist in handover of orders to project management.
• Participate in new product development.
• Other duties as required.
