Job summary

SFV Services is seeking an Estimator for our Detroit area projects. This in-office plus site-visit role supports accurate and comprehensive construction estimates to guide scope, budget, and schedules.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of commercial estimation and a BA/BS in Construction Management, Business, Operations, or similar. The role offers a comprehensive opportunity to contribute to major retail, hospitality, and facilities projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial construction estimation experience.
• BA/BS in Construction Management, Business, Operations, or similar (optional).

Responsibilities

• Define commercial project scope and understand client requirements
• Read and interpret building plans and specifications
• Perform quantity takeoffs and unit cost analysis from drawings, specifications, and schedules
• Obtain and complete all project bid forms
• Solicit, obtain, and evaluate sub-contractor proposals for accuracy and completeness
• Track changes, maintain a living estimate, and manage cost forecasting throughout the project
• Interact with clients and design professionals to clarify the exact scope
• Assist in the preparation of estimates and documentation for change orders
• Submit and track estimate statuses with the client(s)
