Job summary

gpac, a well-established General Contractor, is seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator with a carpentry/interiors background to join their team in Columbus, OH. The role focuses on pricing commercial projects from the field through the estimating process and ensuring accurate, competitive bids.

The ideal candidate will read architecture drawings, specifications, and project documents, prepare detailed estimates, budgets, scopes of work, and bid proposals, and coordinate with subcontractors

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Strong background in carpentry, interiors, finish work, or specialty commercial construction.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Experience preparing detailed estimates, budgets, scopes of work, and bid proposals.
• Strong understanding of labor, materials, subcontractor pricing, and production costs.
• Ability to solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and vendor bids.
• Experience with quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, and sequencing.
• Ability to identify potential scope gaps, exclusions, and cost risks.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.

This is a great opportunity for an Estimator who understands construction from the field through the estimating process and wants to play a key role in pricing and securing commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of interior construction, carpentry, materials, subcontractors, and project costs.

Estimator Qualifications
