Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing construction team in The Colony, TX. You will prepare comprehensive estimates from concept through bid completion, collaborating with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to develop competitive proposals.

The role requires deep understanding of construction means, methods, drawings, specifications, and strong takeoff skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Strong experience with quantity takeoffs and quantity surveying.
• Experience soliciting and leveling subcontractor and vendor bids.
• Ability to identify scope gaps, exclusions, and risk factors.
• Experience developing conceptual, schematic, and hard bid estimates.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, drawings, and specifications.
• Experience developing project schedules, labor production rates, and project durations.
• Proficiency with Timberline (Estimating Extended).
• Proficiency with On-Screen Takeoff (OST).
• Proficiency with Procore.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
• Ability to independently manage large, complex estimates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, schematic, budget, and hard bid estimates for commercial construction projects
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and quantity surveys from plans and specifications
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor bids
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, constructability concerns, and project risks
• Develop project budgets, schedules, crew productions, and duration forecasts
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents for pricing accuracy
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure complete and competitive proposals
• Support bid strategy and proposal development efforts
• Manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
