About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing detailed and accurate project estimates from concept through bid completion. You will collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to develop competitive proposals and support successful project execution.
Responsibilities
- Prepare conceptual, schematic, budget, and hard bid estimates for commercial construction projects
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and quantity surveys from plans and specifications
- Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor bids
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, constructability concerns, and project risks
- Develop project budgets, schedules, crew productions, and duration forecasts
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents for pricing accuracy
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure complete and competitive proposals
- Support bid strategy and proposal development efforts
- Manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
- Strong experience with quantity takeoffs and quantity surveying
- Experience soliciting and leveling subcontractor and vendor bids
- Ability to identify scope gaps, exclusions, and risk factors
- Experience developing conceptual, schematic, and hard bid estimates
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, drawings, and specifications
- Experience developing project schedules, labor production rates, and project durations
- Proficiency with:
- Timberline (Estimating Extended)
- On-Screen Takeoff (OST)
- Procore
- Microsoft Project
- Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
- Ability to independently manage large, complex estimates
Preferred Qualifications
- Design-Build project experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field
- Experience with commercial, healthcare, restaurant, food service, warehouse, and renovation projects
- Leadership, mentoring, or team development experience
