Job summary

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing Services seeks a Senior Estimator specializing in fence and railing construction to own the largest, most complex opportunities from drawing review to signed proposals.

You will build detailed estimates for stairs, rails, structural and architectural metals, perform takeoffs, and ensure pricing accuracy across projects with in-house fabrication control.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Fence & Railings estimating experience.
• 5+ years estimating structural steel, miscellaneous metals, architectural metals.
• Strong ability to read architectural, structural, and shop drawings.
• Knowledge of fabrication processes and shop production requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for stairs, railings, structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and architectural metals.
• Perform quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam and Excel.
• Build complete project costs including materials, fabrication labor, finishes, installation, engineering, permits, and equipment.
• Visit renovation sites to survey existing conditions and develop repair or replacement pricing.
• Review projects for IBC and ADA compliance and identify code-related concerns.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Create professional proposals and support negotiations through award.
• Provide guidance on bid strategy and strategic pursuits.
• Review junior estimator work and maintain estimating quality standards.
• Partner with Project Management to ensure smooth project turnover.
• Analyze estimate-to-actual performance and continuously improve pricing accuracy.

What You'll Be Doing

• Maintain opportunities and pipeline activity in HubSpot and Procore

What We're Looking For

• Required:7+ years of Fence & Railing construction estimating experience
• 5+ years estimating structural steel, miscellaneous metals, ornamental metals, architectural metals, or related fabrication trades
• Strong ability to read architectural, structural, and shop drawings
• Knowledge of fabrication processes and shop production requirements
• Working knowledge of stair, guardrail, and handrail code requirements
• Experience with Bluebeam, Procore a must
• Proven track record of accurate, profitable bids
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills
• Valid driver's license
• Bonus Points For: Multifamily or Commercial renovation project experience
• Existing relationships with Mid-Atlantic property managers, contractors, or engineers
• Construction Management or Engineering degree
