Job summary

CFS in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead estimating efforts for commercial construction projects across MD, DC, and Northern VA. The role involves preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing plans and specs, coordinating with vendors, mentoring estimators, and supporting project teams from bid through startup.

The position is onsite 5 days a week with some schedule flexibility. Excellent benefits and a people-first culture accompany competitive compensation and a 50% bonus

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or commercial construction.
• Strong blueprint reading and construction drawing interpretation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Leadership experience and ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare material and labor takeoffs and project estimates.
• Develop bid proposals, scopes, alternates, and exclusions.
• Coordinate pricing with vendors, subcontractors, and purchasing.
• Review project plans, schedules, and specifications.
• Provide value engineering and change order pricing.
• Train and mentor estimating team members.
• Support project turnover and collaboration with project managers.
• Build and maintain strong client and vendor relationships.

Compensation: $120,000-$130,000 Base salary + up to 50% bonus potential

Our client, a well-known metal fabrication company in Baltimore, MD is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead estimating efforts for commercial construction projects throughout the MD, DC, Northern VA areas. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing plans and specifications, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, mentoring estimators, and supporting project teams from bid through project startup.

This position is onsite 5 days/week, but allows for flexibility and flexible schedule.
