Job summary

Tesla Energy Field Services in Cincinnati seeks a Commercial Field Service Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial solar PV and energy storage systems, as well as EV charging stations. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction and high performance of Tesla’s energy products.

The role requires hands-on electrical trade skills, tool proficiency, ability to travel and stay overnight, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Electrical trades experience with troubleshooting power electronics and low voltage controls.
• Experience using power/hand tools, isolation meters and multimeters.
• Able to navigate multiple computer applications independently.
• Willingness to work weekends/overtime and travel as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Comfort working at heights and in extreme environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on commercial inverters to maintain warranty coverage.
• Respond to corrective maintenance cases for solar PV, energy storage systems, and EV charging stations, update case logs.
• Attend inverter training schools and demonstrate performance.
• Collaborate with Operations Engineering Systems Reliability for open case directions and data requests.
• Prepare reports to meet deliverables in commercial O&M contracts.
• Address customer concerns regarding system performance or function.
• Ensure tools, electronics, software, and company property are well-kept.
