Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical seeks a Commercial Electrical Construction Estimator in Tigard, OR. Candidate reviews proposals, prepares detailed takeoffs, and maintains pricing data to build accurate discipline estimates for multi-project bids.

Strong data interpretation and cost-control skills support historical data integration and supplier price validation. Minimum one year estimating experience and a valid driver's license are required; background checks and MVR may be conducted.

Qualifications

• 1 year estimating experience or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience.
• Knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control, plus ability to interpret computerized cost data.
• Strong computer and verbal/written communication skills.
• Valid motor vehicle driver's license.
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
• Prepare discipline estimate by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
• Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.
• Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures.
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
• Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to particular bid/project as assigned.
