Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical, in Richmond, Virginia, seeks an Estimator to prepare cost estimates for commercial electrical projects up to $10M. You will act as front-line contact on bid days and perform takeoffs of scope of work.

Role requires 4+ years in estimating or cost control within commercial/industrial electrical construction, strong Excel skills, and experience with estimating software. Collaboration with project managers and vendors is essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years estimating or cost control in commercial/industrial electrical construction
• Experience with design-build projects preferred
• Strong knowledge of estimating processes and standards

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for commercial/electrical construction projects up to $10M
• Serve as front-line contact on bid days
• Prepare estimates by takeoff of scope of work
• Coordinate estimating effort for bids/projects
• Negotiate with vendors for best quality and cost
• Assist Project Managers with start-up and change orders
