Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical, in Richmond, Virginia, seeks an experienced Estimator to prepare cost estimates for commercial electrical construction up to $10M. You will takeoff scope of work, coordinate bid efforts, and negotiate with vendors for cost efficiency.

The role requires strong Excel skills, familiarity with estimating software, and the ability to read blueprints and interpret cost data. Team collaboration and accuracy are essential for bid success.

Qualifications

• 4+ years estimating or cost control in commercial or industrial electrical construction
• Strong computer skills with Excel and estimating software
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and cost data
• Knowledge of building codes and related systems/controls
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for commercial/industrial electrical projects up to $10M.
• Serve as front-line contact on bid days for the company.
• Perform complete takeoffs of scope of work.
• Coordinate estimating efforts for bids/projects.
• Negotiate with vendors to ensure quality and lowest costs for bid items.
• Support other departments and assist with change orders as needed
