Job summary

Knight Electric, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our team in a full-time capacity. The role focuses on retail/commercial work including new construction and remodels, with onsite duties in Justin, TX or Alpharetta, GA.

You will develop estimates, coordinate with vendors, and oversee bid packages from pre-bid through closeout. The position requires 2+ years of commercial electrical estimating, strong communication, detailed accuracy, and proficiency with Accubid Anywhere, Excel,

Qualifications

• 2+ years estimating commercial electrical projects.
• Excellent communication with customers, vendors, subcontractors, general contractors and owners.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
• Accubid software experience required; training available for Anywhere.
• Thorough knowledge of the commercial electrical field and materials/construction methods.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and on-screen takeoff programs.
• Knowledge of national, state, and local codes.
• Produce accurate, timely and competitive estimates from bid packages.
• Excellent time management and ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Responsibilities

• Perform takeoffs using on-screen estimating software (Accubid Anywhere).
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and customers.
• Review bid documents to identify required items for estimates.
• Meet deadlines with good time management.
• Prepare detailed proposals and engage clients post-bid for forecasted awards.
• Attend pre-bid or team scope meetings to understand complete scope.
• Notify subcontractors and vendors for quotations on select bid packages.
• Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors on cost changes.
• Review bills of materials and scope letters for accuracy.
• Complete change order estimates for awarded projects.
• Collaborate with estimators and other departments.
• Attend estimating/sales meetings to discuss bid status and resolve issues.
• Conduct handoff meetings and field operations through project closeout.
• Analyze bids and propose value engineering ideas.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to Junior Estimators.
