Solid Rock Recruiting, LLC. is partnering with a leading Raleigh commercial drywall contractor to hire a Commercial Drywall Estimator / Project Manager. You will estimate and manage commercial drywall and metal stud framing projects, perform takeoffs, build bids, and lead client relationships.
The role offers a path to operations leadership with potential growth into division leadership, while guiding a well-established, reputable Raleigh team with deep field expertise.
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
Industry: Commercial Drywall / Metal Stud Framing
Position Type: Full-Time
If you're already estimating and managing commercial drywall work but there's nowhere left for you to go at your current company, this is an opportunity to help lead and grow an established operation rather than wait years for the person above you to leave. Solid Rock Recruiting has partnered with an established commercial drywall contractor in the Raleigh market is seeking an experienced Commercial Drywall Estimator / Project Manager who wants more than another estimating or project management position.
This is an opportunity for the right person to come into a well-established operation, take ownership of estimating and project management responsibilities, help strengthen client relationships, and ultimately grow into a broader operations and division leadership role.
The company is well established in the Raleigh market with an excellent reputation and a well-tenured staff. Ownership believes there is significant opportunity to grow the operation, potentially doubling its current volume, with the right leadership in place. The company already has an experienced field team, including employees with more than 20 years of tenure. What is needed is a leader who can help take that foundation and build upon it.
This is not a position for someone who wants to sit behind a computer and estimate all day.
Initially, this person will need to wear several hats:
The strongest candidate will come directly from a commercial drywall subcontractor, rather than solely from a general contractor.
They should understand:
Commercial drywall | Metal stud framing | Interior build-outs | Exterior framing | Estimating | Project management | On-Screen Takeoff | Quick Bid
Local Raleigh/Triangle relationships would be highly valuable. Ownership wants someone who understands how to build lasting GC relationships, not simply bid projects transactionally.
The company's current work is primarily commercial interior construction, including:
The company has historically performed larger retail, grocery, big-box, and similar commercial work and has the field capabilities to pursue a broader mix of projects again.
This role has a legitimate path beyond Estimator or Project Manager.
Ownership specifically wants someone who may currently feel capped at a larger contractor. The ideal candidate is already good at estimating and project management but wants the opportunity to eventually become an Operations Manager, Division Leader, or General Manager-type leader.
As the operation grows, the intention would be to add support underneath this individual, allowing them to move away from doing everything personally and increasingly focus on leadership, client development, operations, and growth.
Ownership is also open to developing a meaningful performance-based incentive structure so the person responsible for helping grow the business participates financially in the results they create. Long-term ownership or partnership was discussed as a possibility, but should not be represented as guaranteed.
The compensation package is very competitive, including salary, commission, and bonuses. 100% based on experience.
