Job summary

Drywall Company in Texas is seeking an estimator to perform quantity takeoffs directly from architectural drawings and blueprints, measuring materials, labor, and equipment for drywall projects.

You will develop preliminary budgets, cost models, and conceptual estimates early in design, collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients to optimize value.

Proficiency with On-Screen Takeoff and strong bid/RFP management will be essential to deliver competitive pricing and accurate forecasts.

Perform quantity takeoffs, measure & quantify materials, labor, and equipment needed directly from architectural drawings and blueprints.

Quantitative calculations of structural tracking, light or heavy-gauge steel studs, insulation variations, drywall panels, and ceiling grid assemblies.

Manage bids and RFPs, itemize trade-specific scopes, distribute Request for Proposals, and level subcontractor quotes to find competitive pricing.

Build conceptual estimates, develop preliminary budgets and cost models early in the design phase, even with limited or partial documentation.

Cross-Functional collaboration, coordinate closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients to discuss value engineering and cost-saving alternatives.

Mastery of digital takeoff and estimating software - On-Screen Takeoff (OST).
