Job summary

Cenovus Energy is seeking a Business Support Analyst to lead functional design and execution of downstream commercial activity through our ETRM system. The role will co-support the URVR toolkit for yield and production accounting and serve as the Commercial Business Support team's subject matter expert on risk reporting.

The ideal candidate has a strong data/technical background, is a proactive problem solver, and collaborates effectively with business and IT teams across the globe.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business Information Systems or related technical discipline.
• 4+ years applying analytical and quantitative skills including SQL-based data analysis, BI tools, and AI to identify trends and resolve data issues.
• Energy sector experience with knowledge of ETRM, commercial risk reporting, mark-to-market and risk exposure; terminal or refinery yield accounting is a plus.
• Strong understanding of relational data models, system integration, and downstream operations in refined products marketing and logistics.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first-line functional support and liaison for business questions, requirements clarification, testing, release support, and coordination with D&IT across Cenovus' ETRM landscape.
• Partner with business users in multiple locations to support the URVR suite of in-house and third-party solutions.
• Provide month-end accounting close support, ensuring intercompany settlement is designed, configured, and executed on time.
• Coordinate testing and UAT for enhancements; document, prioritize, and resolve defects and operational issues.
• Promote standard processes and escalate gaps; collaborate with Canadian counterparts to drive consistency and knowledge sharing.
