Member Business Financial Services, L.L.P. (MBFS), is looking for a Commercial Credit Analyst (Full Time Remote). This position is responsible for providing detailed credit analysis and recommendations of creditworthiness of new and existing commercial loan borrowers. The candidate will ensure that proposed loans meet policy guidelines to maintain loan portfolio's requisite quality per the credit policy and procedure manuals of respective clients; to maintain records and files on all credit transactions, including correspondence and documentation.
Responsibilities Include
- Evaluate member business loan requests.
- Assess a business' financial needs and recommend loan packages of financial products.
- Analyze and interpret financial statements, tax returns, personal financial statement, statement spreads, and other financial information in order to determine the feasibility of prospective borrowers and provide recommendations for further consideration of request.
- Prepare detailed analysis of personal and business assets for collateral valuation and determine total loan to value calculations within policy guidelines.
- Identify strengths and weaknesses of underlying credit requests through balance sheet and income statement analysis, ratio analysis, and cash flow analysis.
- Create credit memorandums and ensure detailed accuracy and maintain quality control and integrity of the data.
- Assist our clients in establishing and negotiating the terms under which credit will be extended, including the costs, repayment method, and collateral requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred
- Three years' experience in reading, analyzing, and interpreting simple and complex financial data and credit memorandum preparation required.
- Requires proficiency in the use of credit spreading analysis software, Word, and Excel programs.
- Knowledge of small business loan policy; federal banking regulations, credit granting criteria, interest rates and how they are computed, and required documentation for each type of loan.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Excellent loan interviewing skills and techniques required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and within established service standards.
- Formal credit training is helpful but not required.
