Job summary

BMO is seeking a Commercial Credit Analyst to analyse credit information and support lending decisions for a portfolio of commercial banking loans. You will perform financial assessments, prepare credit summaries, and help structure loans in line with risk policies.

In this role you will collaborate with Relationship Managers to identify opportunities, monitor portfolio health, and ensure compliance with risk and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Preferred 3–4 years of relevant experience in credit or lending instruments or financial operations in a corporate or banking environment.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Business Administration, Finance and Accounting preferred.
• Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze credit information to support lending decisions and processes for a portfolio of Commercial banking loans and credit solutions.
• Perform financial analysis and calculations, assess client creditworthiness, and prepare detailed credit summaries.
• Utilize financial models and analytical tools to assess repayment capacity and propose loan structures and collateral.
• Support credit-granting decisions and monitor portfolio to identify deteriorating credit conditions.
• Develop proposals to capture new business and expand client relationships.
