Job summary

Meter in San Francisco is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Commercial to own Meter’s material customer agreements, SLAs, channel deals, and pre-installation licenses. You will ensure performance across Sales, Finance, Security, Engineering, Product, and Deployment.

This founding role reports to the General Counsel and helps scale the commercial legal function as the business grows, building templates, playbooks, and efficient processes for faster, cleaner deals.

Qualifications

• A J.D. from a top law school.
• Eight years of experience at a top law firm and/or relevant in-house commercial experience.
• Member in good standing of at least one state bar.

Responsibilities

• Draft, structure, negotiate, and close Meter’s material customer agreements and SLAs across every Sales Team.
• Stand up and run Meter’s CLM, owning the contract lifecycle from intake to signature to renewal.
• Build the templates, playbooks, and repeatable processes that expedite future deals and scale the commercial function.
