Job Description

A Superintendent directs the work flow of the project on site consistent with the project schedule and HITT safety and quality standards. The Superintendent provides leadership and serves as the liaison between project team members to promote the interest of both the business and clients, demonstrating characteristics of a mid-level leader. The Superintendent communicates project priorities to site staff and subcontractors, serving as the primary on-site leader for the construction project.

Responsibilities

• Administer and ensure safety standards are met, including all subcontractors, and report incidents promptly
• Maintain HITT quality standards across all project aspects
• Lead on-site safety efforts to manage a safe jobsite
• Keep daily logs of activities and site conditions, manage punch list and project closeout
• Collaborate with the project manager on scheduling and sequencing of work, ensuring quality and adherence to deadlines
• Foster good relationships with subcontractors and community stakeholders
• Ensure accurate documentation, understand subcontractor scopes, and proactively address issues
• Organize site resources, facilities, utilities, and identify long lead items
• Work closely with project management and operations teams throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications

• Degree in construction, engineering, or business preferred; equivalent work experience accepted
• 5+ years in commercial construction, including experience with general contractors
• Experience with tenant renovations, occupied spaces, fast-paced projects, and service work is a plus
• Proficiency with project management and construction software (e.g., Microsoft Office, ProCore, BlueBeam)
• OSHA 30 Certification preferred
• Physical ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills; ability to build relationships and demonstrate integrity
